Graves, Pessac-Léognan & other dry whites

Pessac's Semillon and Sauvignon could not have asked for more than the very dry growing season right through to harvest, the result being exceptional, crystal clear wines. The southern Graves enjoyed the same conditions to produce delicious wines for earlier drinking. By Steven Spurrier

Quite discreet but supremely elegant white florality and fruit, great persistence and harmony, a beautiful wine, hard to imagine a better Domaine de Chevalier white. Drink 2014-25. (18.5 points)

Chateau Malartic-Lagraviere Blanc, Cru Classe Graves, Pessac-Leognan 2010

Superb expression of white floral fruits and perfectly harmonious minerality to back them up, will be very good young, yet last well, a pinnacle of achievement from this chateau. Drink 2013-20. (18.5 points)

Chateau La Mission Haut-Brion Blanc, Pessac-Leognan 2010

Beautiful citrus elements over white fruits, already richly expressive with the weight and texture of a Montrachet plus the northern Graves salinity and minerality. A triumph. Drink 2013-25. (19.5 points)

Chateau Haut-Brion Blanc, Pessac-Leognan 2010

Slightly richer and broader fruit than La Mission, superb finesse over a fleshy ripeness and perfect harmony. Drink 2013-25. (19 points)
