Very warm weather in February led to rapid ripening and onset of
harvest. Fruit was harvested in early-March and fermented in small,
open top fermenters. After pressing, the wine was matured in new (38%)
and conditioned (62%) French and Hungarian oak barriques for 18
months.

TASTING NOTES/产品特征
Deep garnet red with brick red hues. Powerful and opulent with ripe red
berry fruits. Blackberry, spice, plums and cocoa combine adding additional
layers of complexity. Beautiful fleshy berry fruits gift-wrapped in
velvety, finely-structured tannins. Powerful, voluptuous and textured, the
palate shows great concentration and length with deep red berries,
dark chocolate and spice on the finish.

As with everything to do with the Maverick philosophy, the winery has been hand-tailored to reflect our careful crafting of individual wines produced in small lots in accordance with time-honored European traditions. In the vineyard we follow a program of sustainable agriculture, with low yields resulting in optimum fruit. For many years the fruit from these vineyards went into some of the top names of the Australian wine industry - they are now proudly incorporated into our Maverick wines.
