What fantastic opportunity to taste the 2000 vintage, of which I have a number of bottles cellared, having split a case with a friend. Although tasted blind this wine sticks out like a sore thumb. It is an impressive looking, opaque, glossy wine. Intense, smoky, mineral-laced blackcurrant fruit on the nose, with real depth of aroma. The palate is firm, stuffed with tannins, but it also has plenty of concentration, texture and very primary fruit. Marvellous potential here.
