In 1967, purchased a farm in the Russian River Valley in Sonoma County with some old zinfandel vineyards
Made first Zinfandel 1968. In the same year, started replanting vineyard with Pinot, Chardonnay (advice from André Tchelistcheff) First wines made in basement. “Winery” built in 1974. Today run by Rod and Lynn Berglund
Swan Pinot 1975 Also one of the first key Pinot producers: "the seminal Russian River Valley Pinot”; “Swan clone” pinot is today widely planted in the US (Dehlinger made 1st vintage at Swan 1975) First vintage 1973; 1975 very good year, ~100-200 cases
