In keeping with Clos Du Val‘s tradition of producing elegant, structured Cabernet that some might describe as "classic" Napa in style (meaning more structured and elegant than flashy and overblown) the 2008 Cabernet is a dark, brooding wine, with aromas of blackcurrant and black plum accented by hints of peppery herbs and layers of toasty oak. It is not as voluptuous as 2007, with chewier tannins and more grip at the finish.
